The tinhlanga pattern

The zigzag lines that give the brand its texture — where they come from and how we use them.

Three zigzag lines — Laterita, Índico and Dourado Macua — repeated until they become fabric. The tinhlanga is the most discreet element of the WebTluka brand, and perhaps the most important: it is what keeps the geometry from going cold.

Where it comes from

The zigzag is one of the oldest forms in Mozambican visual language — it lives in capulanas, in baskets, on walls. We did not copy a specific pattern: we drew our own with the same grammar.

How we use it

Always as SVG — never as an image: it weighs under a kilobyte and draws sharp on any screen. Three overlapping strokes with different opacities, over Pau-preto, at half intensity. It appears on the site’s hero, on the separators between sections and on the brand manual’s cover. There is a single rule: the pattern sets the mood, it never competes with the content.

If you are reading this on our site, you have already seen it at least twice without noticing. That is the point.
